Along side Rowena, we have a series of other highly experienced and professional practioners at The Wee Yoga Room
Laura Neish (Wee Yoga Room Ashtanga Teacher)
I did my first ashtanga yoga class at a gym in 2012. Having a past in gymnastics and thought for a long time that yoga was "too easy", I was very surprised at how challenging I found my first class and I loved it. It wasn't about being able to do a handstand or being bendy enough to touch your toes. There was so much more to the yoga method and for some reason, that I couldn't quite put my finger on, I was instantly hooked. On my way home I felt some kind of high that I'd never felt before.

A few weeks later, I started working abroad and found myself without a teacher for a few years. I bought a mat and took to self-practicing whenever I found the time.
I stumbled my way through the primary series with no teacher to guide me but somehow, I found a lasting calmness in yoga that I fell in love with.
My favourite part is that you can do it anywhere, anytime, there's no expensive kit required, all you need is some time and a little bit of space (sometimes difficult to find working as a busy chalet girl in, let's just say, a "cosy" chalet in the French Alps!).
In 2015 I moved to Scotland and I was very grateful to find a teacher in Rowena. It was here that I found a steady ashtanga practice and started to really understand why yoga is so wonderful. Although I still enjoy self-practice, I realised that having the guidance of a teacher is a necessary part of it.
After practicing with Rowena for a year, I set off to India to deepen my practice. Here I did a 200hr Yoga Alliance recognised Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training course with Kamal Singh at the Tattvaa Yoga School in Rishikesh. I then spent some time exploring the North of India, enjoying the Himalayas and studying yoga, pranayama and meditation along the way.
I have now returned to Scotland to start my journey as a teacher and I very much looking forward to sharing some energy with you in class.
Mo MacDonald (Wee Yoga Room Ashtanga Teacher)
Hello, my name is Mo and I am so looking forward to spending time with you at The Wee Yoga Room. For me I loved the idea of Yoga, but it took me a long time to feel able to attend a class. I had an imagine of bendy, thin and sorted Yogis. I did not fit into any of those categories!
My friend took me along to a few vinyasa flow classes, I liked it, but I felt a bit out my depth. It was through a very nice gift I received for a weekend Yoga and Wellness retreat that I had the time and space to get better acquainted with Yoga.

This gave me the confidence to try different classes and ‘styles’ of yoga.
But it also allowed me to meet so many different and lovely people, not many of which fitted with the ‘bendy, thin and sorted yogi’ imagine.
As time has passed yoga has become an integral part of my life, supporting me through my pregnancy’s, with my physical and mental well being as well as providing a safe space when life got tough!
I felt compelled to train as a yoga teacher and trained at Yoga Jo’s in Milngavie. I am very grateful for the experience, it introduced me to the Ashtanga practice and Yoga Philosophy. I have since completed Lakshmi Voelker Chair Yoga Teacher Training and if Covid allows I will start my 300-hour Yoga and Mindfulness with focus on mental health, accessibility, and physical rehabilitation in June. All topics close to my heart.
The Ashtanga Practice is there for everyone and I hope I can support people to feel the joy and nourishment Yoga can bring to their life as it has for me!

I am delighted to be joining the team at The Wee Yoga Room to offer Somatic Yoga classes and Coaching with Somatic Therapy.
Yoga has been part of my life since I was a student, twenty years ago now! But I really became serious about my practice during the pandemic when I discovered that it could be so much more than a physical movement style.
Yoga supported me mentally as well as physically through the lockdowns and my partner’s serious illness. When I started seeing clients as a therapeutic coach in 2021 I often found myself sharing stretches and practices from yoga to support them on their stress and anxiety recovery journey.

I also began to incorporate yoga sequences into group coaching and seeing how accessible nervous system regulation became when using yoga as a way in. I decided to train as a RYT, initially in yin yoga and then as a trauma informed vinyasa practitioner, and now teach regularly in the Stirling area including the Peak, and through my online platform Mind-Body-Movement.
Somatic yoga is a combination of slow flow and yin yoga incorporating awareness practices from somatic therapy. It is an anatomically engaged practice that can support joint health, mobility, overall wellbeing, and stress reduction.
My classes are all trauma-informed, meaning they are invitational and non-prescriptive, with lots of modifications offered so that you can find the approach that works best for your body and capacity in each session. I also offer somatic yoga 1-2-1s and coaching appointments in the Wee Therapy Room. To find out more visit my website https://beathacoaching.org

Hi I’m Nicola, and I’m delighted to share Seasonal Yoga with you at The Wee Yoga Room.
I started dabbling in yoga with my Mum and sisters in my 20s, looking for a way to relieve the stresses of a demanding career. A friend took me to an Ashtanga Yoga class in 2002 and I was hooked! I started to practice regularly, then joined my teacher’s 200-hour course and qualified as a yoga teacher in 2009. Teaching and practicing brought a sense of balance to life with a demanding job and 2 lovely daughters, as well as helping me recover from a series of health challenges.

I am a constant student and I LOVE bringing what I learn into class to share! I completed a 300-hour teacher training with the Seasonal Yoga Academy in Glasgow in 2016, followed by a 2-year training to become a Seasonal Yoga Master. I study yoga philosophy with the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies and philosophy and meditation with my teacher Marit Akintewe, and I have trained in Ashtanga Yoga with John Scott and David Keil too.
I became assistant teacher on Stirling’s first seasonal yoga teacher training in 2018 and I am delighted to say I now lead the teacher training school, taking on new trainee yoga teachers each September.
So, what is Seasonal Yoga? In our classes we blend Hatha Yoga postures and breathwork with Traditional Chinese Medicine’s 5 element and organ meridian theory.
The aim is to work with, rather than against, the energy of nature in each season, to enhance the positive traits and tendencies of the elements and meridians in play. In this way we free the energy in our bodies, enhancing vitality and wellbeing. I hear from my students that this practice helps them feel more relaxed, to sleep better, and become more aware of their bodies and their energy, knowing when to act and when to rest.
I love the way seasonal yoga practice changes from week to week, depending on the time of year, the meridians in play in the season – and of course, who is on the mat with me on any particular day. This practice is for anyone, beginners to experienced practitioners, and I’m looking forward to welcoming you to our classes soon.
Nicola will be teaching her Seasonal yoga classes every Thursday at 18:15 – 19:15. You can book directly here: nicolapark2003@yahoo.co.uk

I am delighted to be back teaching and practicing at The Wee Yoga Room. I began my yoga journey with Hatha style classes in my 20s and on moving to London I was able to deepen my yoga practice trying different teachers and styles, as well as completing a course in holistic therapies.
I was always drawn to yoga as it helped ring fence time for myself, as life off the mat was increasing busy as a school teacher and mum of three.
When I was introduced to Ashtanga by my friend Jules, I deepened my practice with certified Ashtanga practitioners including Rowena! This gave me the incentive to complete my first 200 hour teacher training in Hatha Raja Yoga (specialising in (Ashtanga) in 2015 with June Mitchell of CYS.
Then my 300 hour with Dhugal Meachem (Black Mat Yogi), specialising in Yin Yoga, Meditation and Traditional Chinese Medicine theory, becoming a E-RYT 200 and RYT 500 practitioner in 2023. Along the way I added 100hr training in Kids Yoga, with Little Greene Yoga, teaching family and children’s classes. More recently I have been explored more gentle yoga practices, having completed training in Chair Yoga, Yoga Nidra in 2024 and 2025 respectively.
I’m currently training in Qi Gong. When not on the mat you’ll find me on dog walks, hill walking, wild swimming, teaching in a Complex Needs school, going to gigs and hanging out with family and friends. I continue to seek my mat for that bit of peace away from the busyness of life and I would love to share the joy of yoga with you.
